Symptom 1: Unable to successfully update
adb_main.dbt or adb_unus.dbt
Cause:
adb_main.dbt and adb_unus.dbt are large files. Download of these
files will fail if the internet service is temporarily disconnected.
Workaround:

Directly download the file from http://www.rgwcherry.co.uk/adb/adb_main.dbt
or http://www.rgwcherry.co.uk/adb/adb_unus.dbt and save the
file to C:/Program Files/ADB/Data (C:/Program Files/ADB is the
default directory of the program. Change this string if it is
installed in a different location.) |
Symptom 2: Unable to check for updates
using the web update facility
Scenario 1:
You are always connected to the internet and your computer has
internet security software installed.
Cause:
The internet security software is preventing the ADB from accessing
the internet (an error message "Runtime Error 91: object variable
or with block variable not set" may be displayed).
Workaround:
- Reconfigure Firewall Program
Control to permit internet access for ADB
Scenario 2:
You access the internet through a proxy server and a password is
required to access the internet
Cause:
ADB currently does not have the facility to allow the user to access
the internet through a proxy server.
Workaround:
- None currently available.
Symptom 3: Unable to download the latest
data issue from the web update facility
Cause:
You are using an older version of the database. The current database
software is at V5.0 and there is a change in file structure. Hence,
the updated data files will not work in the older version of the
database.
Solution:
Download the latest version of the database (link
to download page) which contains the latest data file.
Symptom 4: Run Time Error 3274 when attempting to view Screen 2 and Screen 3
Cause:
You are running on Windows Vista.
Solution:
Run the program as an administrator. Follow these steps:
1. Right click on ADB and select 'Properties'
2. Click on 'Compatibility' tab
3. Enable 'Run the program as an administrator' under the 'Privilege Level' section. |
