UK CAA Cabin Crew Firefighting Training Needs Analysis Project - UPDATE
An overwhelming number of responses were received from the on-line survey carried out as part of the UK CAA Cabin Crew Fire Training Needs Analysis. In the period of 19 October 2007 – 13 January 2008, more than 2000 responses and comments were analysed. The findings of the analysis were addressed in the Phase 1 report submitted to the UK CAA on the first week of February 2008.
The responses and especially the comments made by the contributors are invaluable and provide a deeper insight to the current cabin crew fire training practice in the industry. It was found that the results of the survey are inline with the findings of other tasks carried out as part of the training needs analysis. Some suggestions are very constructive and highlight some important aspects of fire training.
The final tasks of identifying training needs and formulating recommendations are now in progress.
We would like to thank you for your participation in the on-line survey. Your inputs have contributed greatly to an important research project that may have far-reaching consequences for improving air transport safety.
